It will be just like Anthropologie...yes, the store.

I discovered the store Anthropologie about a year ago...and I've been enchanted with it ever since.  I don't always find something to buy but I could spend several hours in the store looking at the rustic furniture, hand-stiched kitchen linens, and vintage light fixtures.

Tony is aware of this weakness.  On Saturday he mentioned that he wanted to pull the carpet out of our bedroom so that he could re-finish the floors in both bedrooms at the same time.  This would mean that we would have to move into the un-finished bedroom until the floors can be sanded in the current bedroom. He joked "it will look just like an Anthropolgie store" and my interest was piqued.

The "Anthropologie" room has been largely untouched since the house was built, with the exception of the vinyl tile and asbestos ceiling spray that were added in the 1970s.  The vinyl and asbestos have been removed now but the room has revealed some of its previous layers in the process.  The plaster on the walls is peeling off to reveal multiple wallpaper patterns, paint and, in some places, the lath.  The old bright blue (and presumably lead) paint on the ceiling is also peeling off....

...Naturally I was thrilled about this plan and on the condition that Tony fix the ceiling light fixture that has been hanging precariously by its wires since the asbestos removal.

So...the carpet has been removed from our bedroom to protect the raw wood in the Anthropolgie room. This revealed the wood floors in the room that was previously carpeted.  They are in MUCH better shape than the other floors but they have some staples...so it could be a while.

Good thing I love this look!
